This fully interactive, case law specific three day accredited course in Social Security Tribunal Representation will cover in detail: Playing to win - Understanding the importance of the initial application and assessment process and form filling when a case reaches hearing. Understanding the crucial role of legislation, guidance, case law and decision making guides in Social Security decision making. Understanding and using PIP, ESA and Universal Credit case law. Preparing the best case, research skills, gathering effective evidence and writing submissions. Social Security Tribunal Procedure and best practice. Making the case in person - Effective Tribunal Advocacy skills.
The course will fully equip advisers with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully and professionally represent their clients at the First Tier Social Security Tribunal.
This exciting new national qualification was piloted last year, receiving high praise from both new and experienced advisers, wishing to refresh their advice knowledge and competence. The 10-day course covers all the skills, knowledge, processes and practice of providing multi-channel advice. It is taught via a face-to-face, on-line, placement, and distance learning approach allowing opportunities for application, including completion of forms for social security and tax credits.
These workshops are held by Advice NI’s Quality Assurance Co-ordinator and are an excellent method of support for Quality Assessors within member organisations, who have either achieved, or are working towards the Northern Ireland Advice Quality Standard (NIAQS). The workshops will provide a practical, hands on approach to completing Advice Audits within a supportive environment of Peer Assessors. With the guidance of the Quality Assurance Co-ordinator, participants will be taken through a step by step approach to auditing quality of advice, enabling them to achieve a standardised level of Auditing for their individual organisations.
A new system for the regulation and licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation came into force on 1st April 2019. The DfC has made subordinate regulations, including a Code of Practice for landlords and HMO managers, which will give effect to the Houses in Multiple Occuation Act (NI) 2016

Lagan Dragons is Northern Ireland’s first ever breast cancer survivor Dragon Boat team, formed in September 2015, with training sessions from Belfast Boat Club, 12 Lockview Road, Belfast.
Our team is open and inclusive to all, however, we are primarily made up of breast cancer survivors, family members and medical professionals who have supported us and been involved in our diagnoses and treatment, but we welcome new members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities!
