Everyone struggling to understand and access their Healthcare System is welcome. We serve the vulnerable and underserved, who struggle to understand and access healthcare resulting in low healthcare outcomes and increased medical errors and deaths. This includes migrants, including the undocumented, refugees, elderly people as well as people with long-term chronic health conditions, and disabled people who cannot easily access health resources. This qualification provides learners with knowledge and skills to apply reliable, evidence-based nutritional science and healthy eating recommendations. Learners will gain an understanding of nutritional science and their application to exercise, sport and athletic performance. This includes the limitations and risks of supplements and performance aids, and the importance of hydration for sports performance. Working within their scope of practice, learners will be able to support their clients in their understanding of the relevance of official guidelines to personal food preferences and needs, including for health and wellbeing, weight management and sports performance.
