This overview level session will equip advisers with a more detailed knowledge and appreciation of key issues faced by survivors as they navigate social security, housing, and employment issues either for the first time or indeed help advisers understand how changes of circumstance/relationship have an impact on these areas.

What do you need to include in a volunteer induction? How do you make it visually appealing? How do you value your volunteers, recognise they have other commitments, give them a voice? Have you considered moving volunteer induction online, or providing a combination of online and face to face? We will look at good practice and how we ensure we are being proactive and not reactive to our volunteers.

The 30th anniversary commemoration event for Srebrenica – 6-7pm on 25th June 2025 at Belfast City Hall. Keeping Adults Safe: Adult Safeguarding Champion and Appointed Person Training. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This 90-minute course has been designed to inform and update learners on the redundancy process. It will cover the following:

Changes to rules relating to the recovery of benefit overpayments mean that recovery will now be sought in the vast majority of cases. This has shifted the spotlight to the Department’s discretionary power to waive recovery. A recent legal challenge in Great Britain has resulted in important changes to the Department for Work & Pensions’ Benefit Overpayment Recovery Guide, which appears to open up access to discretionary waivers.

Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This half day course will enable participants to understand the value of Independent Advocacy to individuals and our wider society and equip learners with key concepts such as

This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons to support them in their role.

This course has been designed for anyone who would like to gain a better understanding of law governing Data Protection in UK, particularly in Advice work setting.

Leading & managing volunteers can be very fulfilling, but it also comes with some notable challenges. Even the best planned volunteering projects can struggle to attract and retain volunteers for the long term, leading to the need for repeated rounds of recruitment and the potential for burn-out in those volunteers who do remain.

The integrated training programme is aimed at those who engage with children, young people and adults at risk.

In this session, we will explore the differences between volunteers and employees, the laws that can impact volunteering work, and much more, including legal boundaries, and we will clarify best practice when involving volunteers.

This session will show Advisers how to locate and utilise key Regulations, Decision Making Guidance and Case law to better assert client rights, challenge decisions and navigate problems with the Social Security System.

This half day, online course will build your understanding and confidence to support autistic adults who have a co-occuring learning disability.

Understand the main features associated with autism and explore various strategies to support autistic people. The course will explore the key characteristics including communication, social interaction, repetitive behaviours and sensory differences. The course is delivered on Zoom, and includes group discussion, interactive activities and question/answer sessions, so you can get the support you need and maximise your learning.

This practical and interactive course will explore common challenges that arise when working with clients in the provision of advice services. It will identify and share helpful methods for dealing with such challenging circumstances and focus on how to respond in a safe and positive way to such challenges and will focus on :

This 90 minute nutshell course will refresh, inform and update learners on the different transitional protection elements available to legacy claimants moving over to Universal Credit including:
