Join us for our inaugural Blood Run to encourage 5km runners and families to get out and run together, enjoy some Halloween dressing up and prizes, all whilst supporting blood cancer, which is the most common cancer diagnosed in children and those under 30.

This two-hour course is aimed for all healthcare professionals who want to support autistic patients within their role.

This course will explore the key characteristics of autism that may impact on a person’s anxiety and stress levels. The course will explore a range of strategies to help increase emotional understanding, emotional regulation and coping strategies to help an autistic individual reduce the impact of anxiety and avoid autistic burnout. The course will also explore how you can minimise anxiety triggers for autistic people within your professional role or service.

The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. This session will provide training to assist and support them in carrying out their role and responsibilities. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information.

The KEYHOLE® Early Intervention Programme is a 2-day interactive training course specifically designed for early years professionals. This training programme aims to help professionals develop their skills and confidence in supporting young autistic children or those that may be awaiting an assessment. Topics include play, communication, social interaction, behaviour, and the Early Years role. The aim of the course is to enable you with the skills and confidence to support the child and family in a person-centred and neuroinclusive way.

This is a half day’s refresher training for Designated Officers who have already attended a full day’s training. It covers: The role and responsibilities of the Designated Officer Health and Social Care Trusts structures and processes Issues and experiences around referrals and sharing information Recent developments in safeguarding children and young people.

This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons to support them in their role.

By completing this qualification, existing gym instructors can expand their scope of practice to deliver personal training. This qualification meets industry requirements to become a Personal Trainer, as set out within the CIMSPA professional standard. The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to: Consult and assess clients’ needs and support them towards their health and fitness goals. Plan, deliver and evaluate indoor and outdoor personal training sessions to support individuals (one-to-one) and small groups. Apply methods of marketing to promote their own personal training business.

Resistance training has long been a method used to increase athletic capacity in terms of endurance, muscle mass and strength (McGuigan, M., R., 2012). Additionally, there are techniques that are appropriate in developing power in advanced clients and have been shown to be superior to more traditional resistance training techniques (Suchomel, 2017). Selection of these weightlifting techniques for use as an advanced training modality in power production have shown to be effective in clients and should be implemented (Tricoli, V., et al 2005).
