Halloween Scream Park comes to Belfast Activity Centre A spook-tacular treat for groups, family and friends. Enjoy all the chills and thrills with a carousel of terror-ific Halloween themed activities to try and personally experience.

You will learn new camera settings and develop your photography skills, focusing on how to use white balance, metering, bracketing, focusing, histogram and more. This course will also enable you to apply a practical and theoretical knowledge to help you use a digital camera effectively and creatively.

You will gain knowledge of studio lighting setups and techniques to enable you to take quality studio images from family portraits and stylish fashion shots, to interesting still lifes and eye-catching products. You will learn how to set up the lights and various lighting techniques that you can easily replicate in your home as the cost of studio lighting has fallen dramatically.

This course will teach you advanced techniques to produce high quality prints from your processed negatives. You will learn how to achieve the correct exposure and tonal range of your print, how to set the correct printing and split grades, how to pre-flash the paper, and an overview of the different papers available for printing.

This course aims to help us understand the basic principles and the process of advocacy whether it is for advocating for yourself or acting as an advocate. The course will look at the effect of disempowering experiences on an individual’s life and the positive impact the advocacy process can have for individual’s and for staff. You will learn the communication and assertiveness skills required to be a good advocate and what types of support individuals need to express themselves. A good relationship in the advocacy process is key so you will learn how to develop an advocacy partnership, know how it differs from other relationships and how to recognise and manage conflict situations. Belfast Exposed is delighted to present Street View: Tristan Poyser which features two projects - The Invisible In-between: An Englishman’s Search For The Irish Border and Masked: a Portrait of Amazon - by artist Tristan Poyser. The two projects share a commonality, in that they both explore political, cultural and social issues at a time of great uncertainty. In both projects, Poyser engaged with the public to 'encompass their opinions, hopes and desires about their unique socio-political situations. As a collective, their voices amass an account which is representative of precarious times. Each respondent was invited to tear a print in ‘The Invisible In-between’ to make the invisible visible then to share a written comment about their thoughts on Brexit. In a similar manner, a subset of photographs from ‘Masked’ is a series of 130 Amazon employees asked to write and display their introspections.'

Belfast Exposed is delighted to present Street View: Matthew Finn which features four projects - Mother, Uncle, Wife and Son - by artist Matthew Finn. Finn uses the people and events directly surrounding his life as visual references for projects that sometimes take years to realise. With no commercial constraints or deadlines, Finn’s subjects are people that are important in his life.

We, Us, Them is a collaborative exhibition between Belfast Exposed and the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne which takes a female focus in relation to cultural values within first nation and global racism as well as the representation of women. The exhibition also focuses on the understanding of place, body and language.

Belfast Exposed is delighted to present the second Jerwood / Photoworks Awards exhibition. Following our involvement as a touring partner for the first JPA exhibition, we were pleased to be invited to take part in the prestigious programme again in 2017-2018.
