Opening Hours

BCS NI Branch operates through a committee of dedicated volunteers, we do not have an office but endeavour to come back to you within 1-2 working days with any queries.

BCS is a charity with a royal charter, our agenda is to lead the IT industry through its ethical challenges, to support the people who work in the industry, and to make IT good for society. We have 68,000 members in 150 countries, and a wider community of business leaders, educators, practitioners and policy-makers all committed to our mission. Everything we do at BCS is built on our five strategic pillars, which make it possible for us to raise standards and realise greater potential in the technology industry. These are: 1. Supporting Careers 2. Sharing Expertise 3. Improving Education 4. Influencing Practice 5. Driving Standards

BCS Northern Ireland Branch provides local representation for Northern Ireland's IT professionals and promote IT in the wider community. We maintain strong links with local schools, colleges and our universities promoting the discipline of computer science, and inform BCS policy through membership at Council level.

Each year our events are aimed at a specific theme which supports one or all of our 5 strategic pillars. 2019-2020 theme is Tech for Good and we are working with interested parties to organise events to reflect the benefits and challenges of developing and using Tech for Good in today's society.

We arrange a varied events programme, which includes academic lectures and seminars as well as social events. We often collaborate with BCS Specialist Groups, other professional societies and organisations to organise large scale events, with something for everyone.

Everyone is welcome, members and non-members alike - it would be great to see you at our next meet-up!

If you have ideas for our forthcoming programme, or would like to get involved, please get in touch with us, our branch website is below:
