Do you want to refresh your skills or learn a new skill in office administration. The OCNNI Qualification in Office Skills is a fantastic course to start working towards a career in office work. This course can be completed 1 day per week for 6 weeks and is an excellent opportunity to refresh, or reskill. Courses are running face to face in all campuses, online option is also available

The Macmillan Cruse Project is aiming to improve bereavement support services for people affected by cancer. Cruse Bereavement Care are motivated to ensure that our services are inclusive, user friendly and that everyone in the community feels as though they can access timely bereavement support. The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace. They will also learn what to do in the event of an emergency and the simple measures that can be taken to control the risk of fires. The QA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals. Successful candidates will gain an understanding of fire safety management at work and the specific roles and responsibilities related to fire safety in the workplace. What's Covered? - Causes of fires in the workplace - The fire triangle - Hazards during and after a fire - Fire and smoke spread - Identifying and controlling fire hazards: • Fire prevention • Fire detection and raising the alarm • Means of escape • Principles of extinguishing fires • Fire-fighting equipment and systems - Fire safety laws - Duties and responsibilities of employers and employees - Undertaking a fire safety inspection - Fire safety risk assessments - Contents of a fire safety briefing - Roles and responsibilities of the nominated firewarden: • On a day-to-day basis • During an emergency All our training is currently run in line with Government advice and COVID-19 Secure. This training will take place on Monday evenings 6:30pm from Monday 9th May 2022. The QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed to be an introduction to teaching for those who work or would like to work in the further education and skills sector. Over a 10 Weeks, candidates will build an understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities related to planning, delivering and reviewing inclusive training sessions. Topics covered include: maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment, assessing learners and providing constructive and developmental feedback. Successful candidates will leave with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to prepare them for teaching in a wide range of contexts, in environments such as Further Education (FE) Colleges, Local Authorities or independent training. What's Covered? - Roles and responsibilities in education and training - Ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment - Relationships between teachers and other professionals - Boundaries between the teaching role and other professionals - Points of referral to meet the individual needs of learners - Inclusive teaching, including: • Ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment • Creating an inclusive teaching and learning plan • Justifying own selection of teaching and learning approaches, resources and assessment methods in relation to individual learner needs • Delivering inclusive teaching and learning to meet individual needs • Evaluating the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning including areas for improvement • Using teaching and learning approaches to meet learner needs • Communicating with learners in a way that meets their needs Understanding assessment in education and training • Different methods of assessment and how they can be adapted to meet individual learner needs • How to involve learners and others in the assessment process • The role and use of constructive feedback • Record keeping of assessments
