Sectors
Health and wellbeingWe are a local, community-centred organisation, founded in 1992 by Ann McCann. We aim to provide:
- Peer support - for people with eating disorders and their loved ones
- Training - through our prevention workshops and awareness training programmes
- Advocacy - by advocating for and with our service users to healthcare professionals, politicians and statutory agencies.
Our vision is that all people with eating distress will be able to access appropriate, high-quality services as and when they need it. We envision an eating disorder service that is a centre of excellence, integrating statutory, community and lived experiences.
EDA's office is based in Belfast City Centre. We currently employ two part-time members of staff as well as having a small team of extremely dedicated volunteer ambassadors.
We strive to instil hope that full recovery from an eating disorder is always possible.
