We are Contact, the charity for families with disabled children. We support families with the best possible guidance and information. We bring families together to support each other. And we help families to campaign, volunteer and fundraise to improve life for themselves and others.

We understand that life with a disabled child brings unique challenges, and we exist to help families feel valued, supported, confident and informed. To make that happen, we work in three closely linked ways.

We support families with the best possible guidance and information

Our national advice, information and support service
We provide online, printed and helpline advice on education, benefits and finances, childcare, social care, medical information and more.

Our national programmes
We run programmes across the UK, including information sessions, workshops, drop-ins in hospitals and parenting courses.

The Fledglings shop
Our Fledglings shop sells toys, clothing and sensory products that make life a bit easier for a parent and more fulfilling for their child.

Support for professionals
As well as supporting families, we help a wide variety of professionals in their work with disabled children.

We bring families together to support each other

Parent support groups
We help local and national groups in their work bringing parents carers together for practical and emotional support.

Online community
Our online community is a place for parents to chat to other families online about anything and everything that affects their child and family.

Family events
Our offices across the UK organise family fun days and outings, giving parents and kids the chance to make new friends.

We help families to campaign, volunteer and fundraise to improve life for themselves and others

Campaigns & research
We campaign with families to remove the barriers they face every day and conduct research so we understand the scale of the issues families face.

Parent carer participation
We are the Department for Education's parent carer participation delivery partner in England, helping parents work together with professionals to make improvements to local services.

Volunteering
For those able to, we have opportunities to give us a helping hand, whether through stewarding a fundraising event or becoming a media spokesperson.

Fundraising
We couldn't support families of disabled children without our generous supporters and determined fundraisers.
