Have you considered moving volunteer induction online, or providing a combination of online and face to face? We will look at good practice and how we ensure we are being proactive and not reactive to our volunteers.

Keeping Adults Safe: Adult Safeguarding Champion and Appointed Person Training. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This 90-minute course has been designed to inform and update learners on the redundancy process. It will cover the following:

This has shifted the spotlight to the Department’s discretionary power to waive recovery. A recent legal challenge in Great Britain has resulted in important changes to the Department for Work & Pensions’ Benefit Overpayment Recovery Guide, which appears to open up access to discretionary waivers.

This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons to support them in their role.

This course has been designed for anyone who would like to gain a better understanding of law governing Data Protection in UK, particularly in Advice work setting.

Leading & managing volunteers can be very fulfilling, but it also comes with some notable challenges. Even the best planned volunteering projects can struggle to attract and retain volunteers for the long term, leading to the need for repeated rounds of recruitment and the potential for burn-out in those volunteers who do remain.

This full day intensive course will build on existing or recently trained Advisers' knowledge and understanding of Universal Credit at a higher level or serve to refresh those who have been working with UC on some of the more complex aspects of the benefit.

This session will show Advisers how to locate and utilise key Regulations, Decision Making Guidance and Case law to better assert client rights, challenge decisions and navigate problems with the Social Security System.

This half day, online course will build your understanding and confidence to support autistic adults who have a co-occuring learning disability.

Understand the main features associated with autism and explore various strategies to support autistic people. The course will explore the key characteristics including communication, social interaction, repetitive behaviours and sensory differences. The course is delivered on Zoom, and includes group discussion, interactive activities and question/answer sessions, so you can get the support you need and maximise your learning.

This practical and interactive course will explore common challenges that arise when working with clients in the provision of advice services. It will identify and share helpful methods for dealing with such challenging circumstances and focus on how to respond in a safe and positive way to such challenges and will focus on :

This 90 minute nutshell course will refresh, inform and update learners on the different transitional protection elements available to legacy claimants moving over to Universal Credit including:

During this session, we will explore these issues and more, including why we need to assess risk and how volunteer managers can implement this process within their volunteer programme.

Understand what is meant by the ‘PDA Profile’ within autism, and how this may present. Explore a range of key strategies you can use in your professional role to support an individual within the PDA profile of autism.

Sometimes managing & leading volunteer teams can present us with unique challenges that can be difficult to overcome. Issues like: Volunteers who have come into conflict with each other in a way that is damaging team morale Volunteer teams who dislike & resist changes that the organisation wants to make Volunteers who are not performing well but who are unwilling to step back A volunteer who has clashed with a service user in a way that might damage the organisation’s reputation may arise and need your immediate attention without there being any clear guidance on how best to resolve them. This workshop will explain various strategies, communication styles, and conflict management skills that will help you resolve these types of difficulties. We will then explore some real case studies to think about how to apply these problem-solving techniques in practice.

By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to become a Gym Instructor, as set out within the CIMSPA professional standard. The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to: Maintain health, safety, and hygiene in the gym-based environment. Supervise and support clients in a gym-based environment. Plan, deliver and evaluate gym-based exercise programmes. Completing this qualification allows learners to access jobs instructing gym-based exercise sessions.

By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to become a Personal Trainer, as set out within the CIMSPA professional standard with additional scope to work with outdoors with groups. The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to coach clients – one to one and in small groups – towards their health and fitness goals. Learners will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to plan and deliver creative and personalised exercise programmes, provide nutritional advice and support clients with their overall lifestyle management. Completing this qualification will provide learners with access to CIMSPA Practitioner membership, the industry prerequisite to access self-employed and employed personal trainer roles.
