This webinar will feature presentations from two recent projects that have brought together Queen's University researchers and voluntary and community organisations to tackle the impacts of Covid-19.

The Minister created an Emergencies Leadership Group and held a first meeting in DfC’s Headquarters on Friday 20 March. Taking part were a range of individuals from across the sector, local government, and statutory agencies.

As many voluntary and community organisations are making important preparations for reopening offices and community facilities and restart their services and activities, NICVA have arranged a this seminar to help prepare for that return.

As we move back towards a less restrictive working and living environment, we must keep the virus under control. Failure to do that could set us back immeasurably. The World Health Organisation and every public health authority agrees that to protect our community requires sound testing, contact tracing and isolation of the virus to reduce transmission.

The restrictions created by COVID-19 on our day to day lives are affecting our physical, mental and social well-being as well as exacerbating inequalities. Statutory agencies and community and voluntary sector organisations have been responding creatively and finding new ways of working together. This online seminar, organised by the Derry and Strabane Healthy City and District initiative, brings together people from both the public and community and voluntary sectors who are at the frontline of the response. Participants will share their experiences and explore how we can all build on what we have learned to find new ways of working together in the future.
