We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

About South-West Belfast foodbank

A significantly higher proportion of people than average live below the poverty line in South-West Belfast.  South-West Belfast foodbank (serving from the Colin neighbourhood and Dunmurry village to Andersonstown) gives hope and practical help to people in crisis, helping them towards a brighter future. We value all of our supporters who make a big difference.

Food Donations

All of our food is generously donated by people in the local community (at supermarkets, schools, businesses, churches, etc.) and volunteers of all backgrounds help to sort, pack, and distribute food parcels to individuals and families in need.  Local people are feeding local people.

Frontline Care Professionals

The families and individuals who come to us have been referred by care professionals as needing short-term crisis food support. Social workers, health visitors, and many others, work with us to help people in crisis so that they do not have to go hungry.

South-West Belfast Foodbank's Services
