Financial capability is having the ability to manage money well, save for the future and build financial resilience. During the cost of living crisis it is more important than ever that people are able to manage their money, and have access to support to help them do so. This course looks in detail at what financial capability means. It also looks at the causes of debt in Northern Ireland, and how this impacts a client’s ability to manage their finances. It will help you to empower and support your clients to manage their own budget and sustain their home. Attendees will achieve an OCN Level 3.

The session will cover: different areas of housing – social rented, private rented and owner occupier the steps followed, depending on the type of adaptation required the different grants available to private rented tenants and home-owners for certain adaptations
