We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Launched on the 5th of December 2014 Carrickfergus Foodbank was the fourth distribution centre in Northern Ireland.  Based out of Jordan Victory Church 75 Woodburn Road Carrickfergus BT38 8PS the foodbank is supported by local churches, schools, individuals, supermarkets and businesses working together towards stopping food poverty and hunger in our local area.

Carrickfergus Foodbank is here to help anyone who is facing hunger because of crisis – for parents skipping meals so their children can eat, for the tenant forced to go hungry just to pay the rent, for the elderly person making the stark choice between heating or eating.

We aim to provide our clients with three days worth of emergency food and practical support so help people cope in crisis, as well as give advice and signpost to other services in the area to help people recover, rebuild and break the cycle of poverty.

The distribution centre is a warm and friendly environment with lovely surroundings where anyone calling to the foodbank gets offered a cup of tea or coffee by friendly volunteers while the food parcels are being prepared.
