‘Rocking this Dementia’ Campaign.

Members of local charity Dementia NI are reaching out to others living with dementia in Northern Ireland and beyond. We want to support others living with dementia through our positive messages and offer words of encouragement to others in similar circumstances.

Over the coming months, Dementia NI members will be reaching out within their local communities through their 'Rocking this Dementia' campaign to spread the word about dementia and offer others support through their positive messages.

Dementia NI member Allison Batchelor comments on the exciting initiative,

“When I was first diagnosed with dementia, I felt it was the beginning of the end of my life, that there was really no more life to live. It was only through learning from others with a diagnosis of dementia that I realised that life could and would go on.

I alongside other Dementia NI members really want to get the message across to others recently diagnosed that they shouldn’t give up. There is assistance out there, there is hope and there are other people living with dementia willing to offer the hand of friendship through our charity Dementia NI.”

Dementia NI Empowerment Officer, Ashleigh Davis comments,

“We strongly encourage others living with dementia, families, friends and carers to join in our campaign by hiding a painted rock that they have made themselves. Templates of our ‘Rocking this Dementia’ campaign sticker to place on the back of rocks are available by request through Dementia NI Head Office.”
