Brain Injury Matters is seeking a voluntary research assistant to support the charity.

How does this role make a difference?

The Volunteer Psychology Research Assistant will support the organisation by carrying out research and data collection.   

What will you be doing?

  1. Updating the psychology database.
  2. Scoring of outcomes.
  3. Collection of qualitative data such as telephone interviews.
  4. Recording of data.

How much time will you need to give?

The volunteer Psychology Research Assistant will be required to give a minimum of 7 hours per week.  We are flexible for this to be one full day or split over a few a days.

Where?

This volunteer role will be based at Brain Injury Matters offices, Castlereagh, Belfast.

Requirements

  1. Passionate, dedicated and a willingness to learn.
  2. Psychology background, or in the process of completing a psychology degree.
  3. Understanding of the placement requirements and the key tasks and responsibilities that need to be achieved.
  4. Good communication.
  5. Strong verbal, written and organisational skills.

How will Brain Injury Matters support you?

  1. You will receive the relevant induction for your role and will also be provided with ongoing support and supervision applicable to your role.
  2. You will receive basic Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) training and possible involvement in a conference.
  3. You will be reimbursed your agreed travel expenses, in accordance with Brain Injury Matters policy.
