Volunteering

Volunteer with Conway's Homework Club for refugees

Conway Education Centre

2.00
Conway is looking for volunteers who could support refugee children and young people with their homework tasks. Time commitment: 2 hours per week, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays during term time only.

We are looking for volunteers and volunteer subject teachers who could give just 2 hours a week during term time (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday) from 3.30pm to 5.30pm to help refugee children and young people with homework.

Conway Education Centre supports refugee families in West Belfast by providing support with Homework tasks to children and young people. The Homework Club is an education and integration project for refugee children and young people with a strong focus on English language development and educational support. It works with teams of volunteers supported by subject teachers and liaises closely with parents, teachers and key workers. The Homework Club is supported by Children in Need.

There is a great buzz in the Homework Club and a hunger for learning, any support is greatly appreciated.
