Trainer Assessor in Brickwork

To deliver practical training, underpinning knowledge and assessment of competence necessary for students undertaking vocational qualifications. Responsible for advising management and curriculum on trends within brickwork and construction occupations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver industry relevant practical skills training and underpinning knowledge within brickwork vocational areas.
  • Prepare students for undertaking work placement and vocationally relevant assessment.
  • Use a range of methods to assess competence in the workplace and evaluate e-portfolio evidence to meet awarding body performance criteria.
  • To provide support and feedback on student progress against targets to ensure successful completion of vocational qualifications.
  • Implement and maintain Internal Quality Assurance systems and procedures for assessment to meet awarding body requirements.
  • To interact with teaching, training and support teams to ensure successful completion by students within a specified period.
  • Provide support for recruitment and marketing initiatives.
  • Attend regular formal meetings with academic and other relevant staff involved in the curriculum area.
  • To build upon and develop new relationships with the construction sector in order to establish a pipeline of employment opportunities for current and future learners.

Trainee and Employer Support

  • Ensure employers’ understanding of their role in the training process
  • Ensure that the workplace meets general Health & Safety requirements and bring any issues that require attention to the Senior Training Organisation Administrator
  • Ensure that all accidents are reported and recorded according to College procedures and Health and Safety Executive procedures within the required timescale
  • Negotiate and monitor employer contributions to the College
  • Adhere to the College’s Student Discipline Policy and Procedures regarding trainee/client discipline and process the necessary paperwork to the appropriate external contacts

Administration

  • Monitor student progress in relation to the requirements of the occupational frameworks and targeted qualifications in order to ensure successful achievement
  • To participate in regular course team meeting and student case reviews.
  • To contribute/implement student PTPs and portfolio monitoring.
  • To monitor attendance and report any non-compliance of students within assessment regulations.
  • To implement and embed the College’s equality and diversity policies and respond to its equality and diversity duties as they relate to all stakeholders.
