Research & Statistical Analyst

Belfast Met are seeking to appoint a Research and Statistical Analyst on a Insert full time basis.
Belfast Met is committed to providing a relevant curriculum and environment that will provide our learners with the relevant skills for employment, supporting economic development and leading the city to work.
In doing so, Corporate Development is responsible for ensuring that Belfast Met has the evidence and insight for decision making, has a formalised planning and accountability framework for performance management and compliance and, has clear internal communications and engagement with staff ensuring that every member of staff has a full appreciation of their impact.
Corporate Development will provide a range of services, interventions, systems and supports which will:
• Interrogate data (internal and external sources), creating timely accessible management information for strategic and operational decision making
• Interrogate data (internal and external sources), creating evidence based corporate and policy positions
• Develop a planning framework to ensure that every department and every individual has clearly defined plans and measurable KPIs
• Develop a performance management framework to ensure that all contributions are evidenced and that the College complies with legislation
• Enable every ‘Met person’ to do the best they can, all the time, by informing them of progress and creating engagement platforms for ideas generation and value based discussions
The Department has four key functions:
1. Strategic Planning and Performance
2. Data Quality and Business Intelligence
3. Internal Communications
4. Corporate Projects – Management support
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
· Hold a degree (at level 6).
· Experience of utilising multiple databases and external data sources including the input, retrieval and collation of statistical data and management information.
· Demonstrable experience in the use of statistical software (e.g. Stata, SAS, SPSS, Splus, CAQDAS and/or XLSTAT).
· Demonstrable experience of data analysis, database administration and analytics.
· Experience in the production and presentation of formal documents and reports.
· Experience of conducting a research study(s) including the application of appropriate research methodologies and techniques.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
