Open House Festival is a registered charity dedicated to regenerating the seaside town of Bangor, County Down. Our core element is the annual August festival when around 140 events take place in a host of venues and locations throughout the town. This is supported by a year-round programme of concerts and special events, such as Sundown Market and this year the Seaside Revival.
Seaside Revival is a vintage festival celebrating Bangor’s heyday as a thriving seaside resort. Conceived and organised by Open House Festival (in addition to the annual August Festival) this event will take place on Bangor Seafront on Saturday 6 July 2019. Through this new vintage one day festival we want to revive positive memories and use them to create new ones. We hope to reposition Bangor as a modern seaside town, drawing on its unique assets of the seafront, a closeness to Belfast and most importantly, an appetite among residents for change and regeneration. Our volunteers are vital to the delivery of this event and because of this we have worked hard over the past few years to build a dynamic and inclusive volunteer programme. It’s important to us that Open House volunteers provide a valuable link between the festival and our audiences – but also that they have a great time doing so. Volunteers will attend an induction and receive support and an opportunity to attend volunteer training so they feel confident and comfortable in their role.
