Open House is a small independent charity, that aims to transform people and places through music, arts and cultural activity. Founded in 1999 in Belfast’s emerging Cathedral Quarter it played a role in the cultural and economic transformation of post-Troubles Belfast before moving most of its activities to Bangor, County Down, in 2013.
We deliver an annual summer programme in Bangor which includes our Seaside Revival Vintage Festival and free Music in the Park events every Sunday during July and August, as well as a year round series of concerts in Belfast and Bangor. In 2020 we took possession of the former Court House on Bangor seafront, via Northern Ireland’s first ever Community Asset Transfer, having raised nearly £2m to fully restore it and and create an accessible town centre venue for arts and creative activities.
