Cooks (Full-time & Part-time roles available)

Orchard @ The Grove Café will provide catering services within the Grove Well-being centre in North Belfast, delivering a variety of delicious menu options using only high-quality local ingredients. In addition to bringing 11 new job opportunities to the local area, this project will help us to raise awareness of learning disability and autism and create meaningful activity and skills development for participants.

To help us make Orchard @ The Grove a huge success, we are recruiting a full café team of Catering Assistants, Cooks and a Catering Supervisor.

Cooks – Orchard @ The Grove

Location: Grove Well-being Centre, 120 York Road, Belfast, BT15 3HF

Hours: There are a number of positions available:

• 2 x 35 hours per week
• 2 x 21 hours per week
• 1 x 6 hours per week (weekends only)

The café will be open 7 days a week between 8.30am – 9pm Monday – Friday, and 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday. Unless otherwise stated, all roles will be worked on a rota basis across the full week.

Salary: £9.27 per hour (rising to £9.46 per hour after completion of a 6-month probationary period)

These roles will initially be offered on a fixed term contract basis until 31st December 2021, with possibility for extension.

To be shortlisted for these roles, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 in a Catering Subject, or equivalent qualification
• 2 years’ experience of cooking in a busy café or similar environment
• A Food Hygiene Certificate
• An understanding of Health & Safety procedures including COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of stock and portion control
• Be able to work on own initiative and take responsibility for all food production
• Be fully flexible with regards to working hours
