Barnardo's is seeking a qualified teacher to join our team supporting schools and settings across Northern Ireland with the implementation of Social Emotional Learning and the PATHS® Programme - promoting the positive mental health and wellbeing of children in primary schools, pre-schools and childcare settings

Programme Coordinator (Schools) The PATHS® Programme for Schools (UK  and NI Version) and Social Emotional Learning programmes.

The PATHS® Programme is an evidence-based whole-school social and emotional learning programme for primary schools that has been implemented and supported by Barnardo's for over 14 years.  As Programme Coordinator you will provide coaching support and whole-school/setting development  to staff delivering our SEL programmes. In order to extend the development of SEL skills to more children in early years settings, we have developed an ‘SEL for Childminders' programme that utilises both the core concepts of the PATHS® Programme and the training & implementation support provided by Barnardo's. The Programme Co-ordinator for this post will lead a pilot in Northern Ireland to support childminders and other relevant childcare staff involved in the delivery of Social Emotional Learning, and the children and young people participating in the Programme.

You will be part of a fantastic UK wide team and full training and support will be provided to equip you to excel in this role.

Essentially, you will have;

  • A relevant teaching degree and experience of delivering the NI curriculum
  • A high degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service
  • A willingness to travel to settings.
  • A full current driving licence with access to your own vehicle.   Please note: As driving is an intrinsic part of this role, applicants with a disability that prevents them from driving should be able to demonstrate an alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post.

Please see the attached Job Description, Person Specification and Additional Information sheet for more information and shortlisting criteria. Please ensure that you outline on your application how you meet the required criteria outlined on the Additional Information sheet.
