Parental Bereavement Peer Support Group - Armagh & Belfast
Anam Cara Parental & Sibling Bereavement SupportAnam Cara is a charity that provides facilitated peer support to parents following the death of a child — regardless of the age of the child, the cause of death, or how long ago the loss occurred. Our services are free of charge and open to all bereaved parents.
In Northern Ireland, Anam Cara offers the following supports:
🟢 Monthly Parent Support Evenings
Held in accessible community venues in Armagh and Belfast, these informal evenings give bereaved parents a chance to connect with others who understand the pain and complexity of child loss.
🟢 Online Group Support
Parents who may not be able to attend in person can join facilitated online groups in a safe, private space.
🟢 Information Resources
We provide a range of supportive resources, including guides written by bereaved parents for bereaved parents, addressing common experiences and challenges.
🟢 Bereavement Events & Family Days
Opportunities throughout the year for parents (and sometimes families) to come together in remembrance, connection, and support.
For Parents: You are not alone. Anam Cara offers a space where you can speak freely and find comfort among others who truly understand.
For Professionals: Please feel confident referring bereaved parents to Anam Cara. We are a non-clinical, peer-led organisation that complements other forms of grief support and counselling.
