A rare and precious ancient wood, not far from the city of Derry/Londonderry, is showing off a subtle new look.

The Woodland Trust is inviting families to discover the hidden gems of Carnmoney Hill in Newtownabbey this Easter.

The Woodland Trust is leading 47 cross-sector organisations from across the UK in a call to celebrate, and secure the future of, our trees and woodland by creating a Charter for Trees, Woods and People.

The Peace Tree, recently crowned Northern Ireland’s best-loved tree, is now competing for votes in the European Tree of the Year contest, run by the Environmental Partnership Association.

Tree-planting invitation: Saturday 7 November, 12pm to 3pm

Plans for a unique and ambitious tree-planting initiative are underway.

An unassuming section of land in Coleraine is in the running for a vibrant transformation, thanks to the efforts of a consortium of local community groups.

Good fairies, and the more mischievous kind, will weave their magic at the Woodland Trust’s Oakfield Glen on the evening of Saturday 17 October (from 6pm to 9pm).

Ards and North Down Borough Council and the Woodland Trust are delighted to announce their World War 1 commemorative celebrations at Bangor’s Castle Park on Saturday 1 August, from 11am to 4pm.
