This 2-hour workshop on Befriending will cover the following: What is Befriending? Benefits of Befriending Effective Communication Skills – Body language and tone – Face-to-face Vs Telephone – Use of questions Boundaries

Managing change is now a guaranteed part of any manager’s job. Whether you are managing change at a day to day operational level or implementing it at a strategic level—change needs managed. This master class looks at the theory of managing change and how to put it into practice in such a way to keep volunteers motivated. Using case studies and own examples, participants will start to plan for managing change in their own organisation. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of the change process in organisations Outline the characteristics of good leadership Joining information will be sent out the day before the session.

What do you need to include in a volunteer induction? How do you make it visually appealing? Have you considered moving volunteer induction online? Do you value your volunteers, recognise they have other commitments, give them a voice? We will look at good practice and how we ensure we are being proactive and not reactive to our volunteers. We will also look at new ways to carry out Support and Supervision remotely as well as face to face. This session will also examine why Support and Supervision is important for volunteers and your organisation.

This is a face to face training in Belfast. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations. This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons.

This is a face to face training in Ballymena. This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending.

This is a face to face training in Omagh. This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending.

This is a face to face training in Ballymena. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending. Keeping Children Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers is a suitable foundation course.
