Since 1995, New Horizons Partnership Ltd. has been a committed Community / Voluntary organisation; wholly funded by the Western Health & Social Care Trust (WHSCT) (Learning Disability) in Northern Ireland to provide services of excellence to school leavers and adults of all ages with learning disabilities; supporting and equipping each referred individual with the appropriate skills, knowledge and confidence required to enrich and improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families. This is done through providing accredited training and enrichment learning opportunities – both in the classroom and through meaningful ‘hands on’ Community placement experience(s) which, if possible, can progress to supported paid employment in the open labour market locally.

We continue to grow and develop year-on-year with our social enterprise NHP Garden Centre remaining on the original site on the Derry Road in Strabane. This facility is open to the public as well as providing an excellent sheltered environment for our referred trainees who wish to learn more about horticulture and customer service. In 2021, we moved our training & community service Team to new premises in Orchard Road Industrial Estate, where we have our own catering training kitchen, hair salon, music / dance studio and where we deliver a comprehensive range of subjects (chosen by our students) in a range of levels (OCN)

We have a loyal and committed Management and staff Team who recognise the importance of what we do and how we are literally the centre of some many families' lives as a safe, nurturing, person-centred service for the people they care for. Our Board of Directors comprise local parents and business people ensuring good Governance at all times and we look to the future with optimism and enthusiasm, aware that we have already begun receiving more new referrals from our funder and secure in the knowledge that our Garden Centre will continue to go from strength to strength.
