Every Day Harmony is the largest regional provider of clinical music therapy services to children, adolescents and adults delivering services across the health, education, justice and voluntary sectors. We are committed to supporting people where they require input and our music therapists deliver music therapy in a range of settings including day care and community facilities, hospitals, hospices and in home settings.
We believe that because music is a fundamental part of being human, it crosses all barriers. Year after year and person after person we see the evidence of that.
Our vision is to see every child, young person and adult in Northern Ireland receive the level of music therapy service that meets their need. Music Therapy has been clinically proven as an effective treatment to those experiencing:
• Learning disabilities
• Physical disabilities
• Mental health conditions
• Palliative care conditions
• Other communication disorders
• Emotional/Behavioural difficulties
In addition to the clinical service delivery we provide:
• An information service for parents/carers and professionals on the role of music therapy for various populations.
• Training programmes and experiential sessions on how to implement a creative music programme in various settings for teachers, health professionals and other staff.
• Information workshops on music therapy as a career option and placement support for music therapists undertaking their pre-registration training on courses in the UK and ROI.
Our therapists are skilled, enthusiastic and excited about what they do. So in 2015 we decided to reinvent the charity’s image to reflect that better – and Every Day Harmony was born. In a crowded charity sector, we also needed something that would stand out and be instantly recognisable.
The NI Music Therapy Trust remains our official name for business purposes. We are a company limited by guarantee and recognised by the Inland Revenue and are registered with The Charities Commission for Northern Ireland. We are managed by a voluntary Board of Directors.
