The Belfast Philharmonic Choir is Northern Ireland's only symphonic choir.

The 110+ strong choir performs at least four programmes per year, many alongside the Ulster Orchestra, including performances of Handel's Messiah every Christmas - a tradition that goes back as far as 1886. The choir also tours, performing in Ely in 2022, and will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in the 2024/25 season. New members are auditioned each season to join the chorus and the Society holds a Come and Sing community event every year.

The Society also runs a music education programme for young singers aged from 5 to 22, teaching musicianship in small classes alongside choral singing. The Youth Choirs perform in their own concerts each year, sometimes with professional groups, and in 2019 the Youth Choir were placed joint-first in their category at the City of Derry International Choral Festival. They perform with the Dublin Youth Choir as the Cross Border Youth Choir.
