Come and study for your part-time Community Youth Work degree at Ulster University. Apply now for our course starting September 2025. Earn while you learn and study one day per week on our vibrant new Belfast Campus.

Ulster University is recruiting for September 2025 entry for this part-time 4-year NSETS-endorsed programme, leading to a recognised JNC professional qualification in youth work. Attendance is one day each week on our vibrant new Belfast campus. Study takes place across 4 academic years. The programme integrates classroom teaching, online learning, and work-based practice. There are three periods of work-based Assessed Practice, two of which are based in the student’s current community youth work employment.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate active involvement in community youth work in the last 18 months.
  • Be working 10-16 hours per week (paid) for an employer within the community youth work sector.
  • Have GCSE English grade C or above (or equivalent). 
  • Have Level 2 qualification in youth work or equivalent.
  • Have successfully completed studies at level 3.
