INVITATION TO TENDER

Sessional Complementary Therapists

Relatives for Justice require sessional Complementary Therapists to be a part of our unique Complementary Therapy Programme;

Therapists will work in our clinics delivering complementary therapies throughout the North of Ireland, with a trauma focused, holistic approach.

RFJ’s Complementary Therapy Programme maintains the highest professional standards in supporting and delivering services to victims and survivors of the conflict, according to our model of best practice.

All the different aspects of trauma are well considered when delivering complementary therapies at RFJ and careful attention is given to each complementary therapy and how it can be used in its full capacity to treat the symptoms of trauma on both the physical and emotional level.

The complementary therapies are provided to support and improve the individual’s ability to achieve containment of these symptoms and enable the survivor to experience a feeling of safety- an important facet of support when dealing with trauma.

Evaluation of proposals:

The Contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous proposal applying the following award criteria, not necessarily in this order:

Roles and responsibilities:

• Be part of a team of practitioners who are qualified in a range of complementary therapies and who can work together in assessing needs and delivering individualized treatment plans to RFJ members.
• To provide a service that offers holistic and individually tailored care to members who have experienced trauma in a confidential setting.
• Ability to deliver treatments remotely and online with clients and carry out admin and follow up support in accordance with RFJ remote complementary therapy guidelines. 
• Liaise with Complementary Therapy Coordinator in relation to the timetabling, delivery and venues of the Complementary Therapy Programme
• Carry out risk assessments and health and safety checks and report to the Complementary Therapy Coordinator accordingly
• As a practicing therapist provide at least 3 of the listed complementary therapies to RFJ members.
• Manage Complementary Therapy clinic administration and evaluation including client bookings, and clinic paperwork in compliance with procedures.
• Provide mandatory monthly accurate and timely reports for Complementary Therapy Coordinator
• Liaise with Complementary Therapy Coordinator to prioritize and manage Complementary Therapy referrals to other support services in RFJ
• Actively support members, manage bookings and cancellations and contact clients regarding their appointments.
• Engage in trauma training and either currently engaging in external supervision or willing to do so by start of contract.
• Hold membership on the register of the Federation of Holistic Therapists or the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
• Participate in regular CPD according to requirements of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
• Knowledge of working with victims and survivors of the conflict in a community setting.
• Therapists are required to have access to own transport (as travel will be required).
• Therapists must be prepared to work unsociable hours and undertake to work in RFJ outreach centers when required by the Complementary Therapy Coordinator to meet the needs of RFJ members
• Provide equipment for treatment procedures (massage couches, music, towels, blankets) when required.

There is no allowance for travel or materials so please ensure these costs are covered in the tender price.

 Eligibility Criteria for Complementary Therapists:

• Hold membership of The Federation of Holistic Therapists

OR membership of the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council and professional indemnity insurance (Mandatory)

• Produce records of continued professional development and sustain training in CPD according to the requirements of professional body.
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in their field of expertise within a community setting, working with victims and survivors.
• Commitment to personally undertaking training required by RFJ if needed in accordance with minimum standards policies within the community sector.
• Is qualified in at least 3 of the following complementary therapy qualifications, one of which is a hands-on massage or reflexology therapy;

• Aromatherapy massage
• Reflexology
• Indian Head Massage
• Auricular Acupuncture
• Homeopathy
• Bowen Therapy
• Emmet Technique
• Metamorphosis Therapy
• Reiki Therapy
• Body Massage
• Bach Flower Remedies
• Hopi Ear Candles

 Confidentiality

 Due to the sensitivity surrounding the work carried out within Relatives for Justice, complete confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach should be taken at all times.

Tender requirements

To tender please provide:

• A cover letter detailing your hourly rate inclusive of VAT and travel
• A copy of your most updated CV to include
• copies of all certificates
• copies of membership of the FHT

     OR

• Copy of membership of CNHC

• Copy of current indemnity insurance. 
• CV also to include two named referees from current or former employers.
• A personal statement regarding your experience of the use of complementary therapies to treat victims and survivors of trauma
• Information on current CPD points.
• Letter from external supervisor who provides current supervision
