'Unprotected, Overprotected'

The report was carried out by a consortium of organisations including Barnardo's, the Children's Society, British Institute of Learning Disabilities, Paradigm Research and Coventry University. It was funded by Comic Relief. The research included interviews with children and young people across the four nations and with Health Trusts and Local Authorities. It found that a significant number of children with learning disabilities are not being adequately protected from sexual exploitation because of the false perception that they do not need sex and relationships educations or accessible information about how to keep safe online and in the community.
