Supporting children with additional needs

Supporting children with additional needs through play

Play is incredibly valuable for all children, it allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity and physical, cognitive and emotional strength.

PlayBoard’s new publication Supporting children with additional needs through play, developed with the assistance of the Mae Murray Foundation, includes play ideas suitable for children with additional needs and is aimed primarily at parents/carers within the home environment. However the ideas within could equally be used by practitioners and childcare providers to support children with additional needs through play.
