Simon Community NI appoints new Chief Executive to lead the fight against homelessness.

Simon Community Northern Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jim Dennison to the role of Chief Executive.

Commencing his post this month, Mr Dennison joins Simon Community NI at an exciting time in the organisations’ journey as demand for its services increases, client profiles continue to evolve and the economic and legislative environment places more pressure on those at risk of homelessness in our communities.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors of Simon Community NI, Chair Alyson Kilpatrick welcomed the appointment: “We are delighted that Jim has joined SCNI as Chief Executive. His wide range of skills and experience will be a real asset to the organisation, its clients and partners as we work to provide individuals, families and communities with high quality support and access to vital services.”

Mr Dennison has extensive experience of both housing and community development issues. His most recent role was Head of Operations with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) – the professional body for housing – where he was responsible for new business development, member services, the strategic direction of CIH’s training and education services as well as developing the Institute’s role in the Republic of Ireland.

Mr Dennison comments “I have been a long-time admirer of the work of Simon Community NI and to be taking up the role of Chief Executive is a great privilege. Simon Community NI’s work is continually evolving to meet the complex needs of service users and I look forward to leading the organisation as it seeks to develop evermore innovative approaches to ending homelessness in Northern Ireland."
