£50,000 Funding Boost for Learning Disability Projects

£50,000 Funding Boost for Learning Disability Projects

Projects supporting people with learning disabilities are set to benefit with grants of up to £10,000 each available from a funding pot worth £50,000.

The ARN Foundation an independant charitable trust will support a wide range of good causes across Northern Ireland with its grant giving managed by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.

Under this round of funding the ARN Foundation has chosen to focus specifically on supporting organisations working with some of the 33,000 people in Northern Ireland with a learning disability.

Speaking about the new Fund, Alan Nappin, Founder and Chairman of the ARN Foundation said: “We are delighted to announce these grants and we hope to make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability in Northern Ireland. We specifically wanted to focus on learning disabilities for our first round of grants because of the great and immediate need for funding of projects.”

Siofra Healy Director of Philanthropy at the Community Foundation said: “The Foundation is particularly pleased to be working with and supporting the ARN Foundation. We know from our experience of grant giving and our knowledge of need within the community that funding for people with a learning disability is limited in Northern Ireland. This boost of £50,000 will make a huge difference through a number of substantial grants.”

The fund is now open for applications and closes on 21 July 2017 at 1pm.
