NSPCC auction a Carrie Neely masterpiece

NSPCC Northern Ireland’s Changing Childhoods Appeal Board has a £1 million target firmly in its sights, after raising an exceptional £11,000 at a prestigious Art Auction in the Merchant Hotel, Belfast.

The Board’s first fundraising event, hosted by art aficionado Carrie Neely, saw artists and art lovers alike enjoy and dig deep for 50 pieces, ranging from paintings and prints to sculptures.

Thanking everyone who attended, Carrie Neely said: "I'm really pleased that my first contemporary Art Auction was able to raise so much money for NSPCC Changing Childhoods Appeal. Now I have dipped my toe in, I'm looking forward to next years which will be bigger and better!"

Dearbhla McGrath, NSPCC development manager, applauded Carrie, the artists involved, and all the bidders on the night, for their contributions:

“This event was of course hugely attractive to any art lover, but also for those who have an affinity with NSPCC’s work. No community is untouched by child neglect and abuse, and it is so important that everyone recognises their personal role in child protection.

“We are immensely grateful to Carrie for her relentless enthusiasm and commitment, and hope that this is just one of many successes ahead for the Changing Childhoods Appeal Board.”
