Arts & Business Northern Ireland has launched the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards for 2017. The search commences for more pioneering partnerships between the worlds of arts and business.

Arts & Business Northern Ireland has launched the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards for 2017. The search commences for more pioneering partnerships between the worlds of arts and business.

Arts & Business Northern Ireland are encouraging entries from business and arts partnerships that took place between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016.

Launching the Awards were Mary Nagele, Chief Executive, Arts & Business NI and Helen Hutchinson, Business Development Executive of Allianz, who have been a long term principal sponsor of the Awards.

Helen Hutchinson, Business Development Executive, Allianz said: Allianz are very proud to again be the title sponsor for these prestigious awards which recognise such positive collaborations between arts and business organisations. These valuable relationships bring benefit to the arts, to business and to communities. We are looking forward to seeing what exciting nominations will be revealed in the coming months.”  

Nomination forms are now available to download from the A&B NI website and deadline for completed nominations is Friday 26th August 2016.

Mary Nagele, Chief Executive, Arts & Business NI said: “The Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards in January 2017 marks the start of our 30th year of forging partnership between the Arts and private sector in Northern Ireland. The Awards are an important showcase for these creative collaborations and we are delighted to have Allianz’s valued and continued as our Principal Sponsor.”

The importance of continued private sector support for the arts was reinforced by Roisin McDonough, Chief Executive, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, saying “The arts and business worlds are increasingly recognising the benefits of working closer together and it is important to encourage continuing growth in this area. The Arts Council is delighted to support the Allianz Arts & Business NI awards, which do so much to recognise and promote the successful and productive partnerships developed in Northern Ireland.”

The Awards celebrate the best examples of arts and business creative partnerships and the outstanding achievements of these collaborations throughout Northern Ireland.

Six awards will be presented to businesses, including the highly sought after ‘Business of the Year Award’ awarded to a business that has excelled through integrating Arts & Culture through different facets of its business strategy.

‘Arts Board Member of the Year Award’ will be presented to an individual who in a voluntary capacity has added outstanding benefits to an arts organisation in a governance role.

The Arts Award, worth £3,000 is presented to a local arts organisation which has consistently looked to develop and pioneer new ideas, whilst demonstrating a progressive and creative approach to a business partnership.

Allianz will be presenting an additional Community Arts Award in the amount of £2,000, awarded to a local community project with a cultural emphasis which has been nominated by an Allianz staff member.

The Awards ceremony for the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards will be held on 19th January 2017.

Arts Board Member of the Year

Awarded to an individual who, in a voluntary capacity, has added outstanding benefit to an arts organisation in a governance role, perhaps through a formal professional development placement such as Board Bank or Young Professionals on Arts Boards.

Arts Award

Awarded to the arts organisation which has consistently looked to develop and pioneer new ideas, whilst demonstrating a progressive and creative approach to business partnership

Business of the Year Award

Awarded to a business that has excelled through integrating Arts & Culture throughout different facets of its business strategy.

Allianz Community Art Award
