Hillmount Makes Donation to Air Ambulance

Staff of Hillmount had the honour of visiting with the Air Ambulance NI team to present a donation of £4036.93 made up from an instore customer collection and personal donation from the Mercer family.

Robin Mercer, managing director of Hillmount, which has garden lifestyle stores in Ards, Bangor, Belfast and Cheshire, said: “We are honoured to be contributing to the vital work of Air Ambulance NI. It was a privilege for us to visit the team and present this donation which we hope will go some way to helping keep the ambulance in our skies to save lives.”

Grace Williams, Area Fundraising Manager for Air Ambulance NI said: “We are truly inspired by the amazing fundraising efforts of the staff and customers at Hillmount. We’re extremely grateful that Robin and his staff chose to support Air Ambulance NI in this unique way, raising vital funds for the charity. The medical team are tasked on average twice per day and with a daily fundraising requirement of £5,500, we rely on the kindness of wonderful supporters like the Mercer family, to ensure we can reach those in need.” 

 

The charity Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland. The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes. From inception to December 2021 the medical crew have been tasked 2,679 times.

 

The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs.
