The Consumer Council wins CIPFA Northern Ireland Public Finance Team of the Year for the second year in a row

Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (NI) announce winners

The Consumer Council won the Public Finance Team of the Year award at the CIPFA Northern Ireland Annual Conference held recently at the Stormont Hotel. The award recognises the achievements of the team in delivering excellence and clear value-adding benefits through working together efficiently and effectively.

Speaking about the win, Paula McCann, Head of Finance at The Consumer Council, said: “Over the last year the finance team have continued to enhance the financial, governance and in-house procurement processes within The Consumer Council, delivering value for money and making a number of savings, which we have put back into our work programme budget to deliver more services for consumers in Northern Ireland.

“In addition, the team has supported a new Directorate within the organisation which is funded by HM Treasury. Despite this adding further financial and governance requirements, the finance team have been very successful in managing this additional work and building a new partnership with HM Treasury.”

Paula added, “We are delighted to be recognised by CIPFA Northern Ireland as the Public Finance Team of the Year for the second year in a row.”
