Cinemagic LA returns from 7th-13th March!

This year’s much anticipated Cinemagic LA Festival has the support of top industry professionals and film and television studios including HBO, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, New York Film Academy, actress Paula Malcomson (Hunger Games, Deadwood, Ray Donovan) and TV Presenter Ross King (ITV Good Morning Britain, Lorraine) who will all host events ranging from Q&A sessions, set and studio tours and workshops.

Through Cinemagic masterclasses, film screenings, q&as, and workshops, young people will get the unique opportunity to hear first-hand from those in the industry and gain an insight to the various roles and careers that exist.

One of the highlights of the Cinemagic LA Festival is the first screening of special preview clips from Cinemagic’s latest short film made by young people ‘Delicate Things’ supported by Creative Skillset at a VIP showcase event on March 10th.

The Festival in LA is a unique opportunity for the 17 young people from Northern Ireland to learn from the experts and obtain an in-depth understanding of the film industry and I have every confidence that LA will be impressed by their enthusiasm, talent and creativity. ”

OFMDFM Junior Minister Jennifer McCann said: “In recent years, the north of Ireland has become an attractive location for television and film production. Our creative industry is flourishing and there is no doubt will continue to grow in strength.  The Cinemagic experience offers a foundation from which our young people can build their creative skills and help them seize future career opportunities both at home and further afield.  It will widen their understanding of each other, increase their confidence and expand their ambitions. ”

Cinemagic offers a unique opportunity for those involved to gain an insight into our thriving creative industries. I hope this programme of events will ignite imaginations and inspire tomorrow’s filmmaking talent.”
