Cervical Cancer Prevention Week 2013

Cervical Cancer Prevention Week – 20th – 26th January 2013.

Cervical cancer is a preventable disease. Despite this in Northern Ireland in 2009/2010, 25% of women did not take up their invitation for cervical screening.  The Women's Resource and Development Agency (WRDA) believe that raising public awareness of cervical cancer prevention is more necessary than ever. In addition to prevention, a focus on the importance of early detection is also needed as this is the key to better survival rates.

WRDA are offering a free Breast & Cervical Screening Awareness Programme to Women’s Groups in the Belfast Trust and South Eastern Trust areas.  Women who take part in the programme will gain:

  • Awareness of the importance of Breast & Cervical Screening.
  • Support to attend for screening.
  • A better understanding of signs, symptoms and results

If you are interested in the programme and would like further information or to book please contact Sadhbh Branton on 028 9023 0212 or email [email protected].

The Breast and Cervical Screening Programme is supported by the Public Health Agency.
