Border Lives: We Want to Meet You!

Border Lives is an important storytelling project taking place in Northern Ireland and the Border Region. It involves finding ordinary people who would be willing to talk about their life growing up, living, and working along the Border area.

Border Lives is an important storytelling project taking place in Northern Ireland and the Border Region. It involves finding ordinary people who would be willing to talk about their life growing up, living, and working along the Border area before and during the Troubles.

We want to hear the “everyday” stories of how people adapted their daily lives and routine amidst the violence, fear, isolation and uncertainty of the conflict but also show the humour, friendships, and community spirit that existed.

Border Lives will create 6 films, each focused on a different location along the border. The films will include your stories, archive film footage and photographs to give a full picture of life at that time, and up to the present day. These films will be available to view on a new website that will be used as an education tool as well as historical documentation.
