A BBC Radio Ulster Appeal on behalf of Family Care Adoption Services

Family Care Adoption Services have been approving people to adopt, and placing children into new families, for over 30 years.

There are children in Northern Ireland and elsewhere in the UK who are waiting to be adopted right now. Most of them are in foster care and they can’t go back to their original families for all sorts of reasons – none of which are their fault. What all of these children have in common is that they are in search of a new family that they can be part of for the rest of their lives.

A few of these children are babies and toddlers, but most of them are between 3 and 8yrs old. Some of them have particular needs caused by experiences in their early lives. Others need a new family who can allow brothers and sisters to stay together. Adoption can change a child’s life for ever, giving them the chance to be out of care and to grow up in an ordinary family.

If you think you could help, or want to find out more, please visit the Family Care Adoption Services website.  You can also contact the charity by calling the Belfast office on 028 9069 1133 or the Derry office on 028 7136 8592.
