Strive Project Lead Youth Worker (Job Share)
(Maternity Cover)
Derry / Londonderry
Youth Initiatives aims to awaken hope, inspire initiative and mobilise young people to make a vital contribution to their community and to a shared future in Northern Ireland. Youth Initiatives specialises in outreach youth work and builds vibrant youth communities in areas of social need.
Youth Initiatives NI, in partnership with Include Youth, NI Alternatives and Newstart seek to deliver “STRIVE” as part of the four year SEUPB Peace IV Regional Children and Young people’s programme.
The Youth Initiatives’ Strive projects will work with 20-25 young people per year in each of four social need areas across Northern Ireland. Strive builds on YI’s model of good relations youth work that re-awakens imagination and builds a sense of adventure – accompanying young people through growth in personal development and good relations understanding.
Youth Initiatives seeks a part-time Youth Worker who has excellent communication skills and familiarity with a relationship-based youth work model to cover this maternity leave post. We particularly seek an individual who can recruit and connect PUL young people from the Clooney and Lincoln Courts estates to the project.
