The Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster are looking for 2 Youth Project Workers to join the team! They will be based in 2 different areas: 1 x Fermanagh, Omagh and Mid Ulster Area and 1 x Causeway Coast & Glens Area

Grade: 11 Months-Temporary Post (35 hours per week)
£20,000 (Full-time Equivalent)

Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Carry out focus groups to further develop existing research.
  • Develop programmes, relationships and activities from existing research.
  • Develop a model of Youth Work Practice and promote the development of the model.

This role involves working with all stakeholders in rural areas, e.g. statutory and voluntary youth organisations, EA, Councils etc. and will report to the CEO.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Using existing research:

  • Source relevant youth groups to visit.
  • Carry out focus groups on the issues identified in previous research.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of issues identified.
  • Create a flow of actions required to improve issues identified.
  • Create a tool box of ‘Practice’ for these issues.
  • Create relationships with 3rd parties.
  • Test theories in youth work settings.
  • Develop materials (digital or other).
  • Deliver a clear pathway for future delivery.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle

Desirable Criteria

  • A qualification in youth work.

Relevant Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Experience of working with /managing volunteers
  • Experience of carrying out focus groups.
  • Experience in developing materials.

Desirable Criteria

  • An understanding of models of youth work practice.

Skills and Abilities

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to work independently.

Work related Travel: Required to travel across their council area
