Wellbeing Practitioner

POST: Wellbeing Practitioner- 2 posts available (Fixed Term until September 2023)
REPORTS TO: Head of Service
SALARY: Points 29-31, £26,162 - £27, 892
DEPARTMENT: Homelessness Services
LOCATIONS: One post will cover accommodation projects in the Belfast area and one post will cover projects in the Bangor, Lisburn and Downpatrick areas.
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week to include evening and weekend work
JOB PURPOSE: The role will require the practitioner to engage with clients (individually and in groups) who have been identified through the Needs Assessment and Support Planning process as being in need of specialist support to manage their mental health and substance use. The Practitioner will employ an Integrative Approach dictated by the presenting issues and expressed wishes of the client.
There will also be a staff development aspect to the role where the practitioner will provide support, advice, training and guidance to project staff to assist them with management of clients on site who have dual issues.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they meet each of the following essential criteria.
1. Relevant degree or professional qualification e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Youth Work, Counselling
OR
Evidence of having completed a range of substance use training modules/sessions-dates, level/accreditation (if applicable) and name of training organisation. Must demonstrate a minimum of 1-year experience of applying this training in practice with clients with complex needs
WITH
Evidence of having used Substance Use and Mental Health specific Screening and Assessment Tools. Applicant must be able to demonstrate how they have used these tools- explaining the environment, context and presenting complex issues
2. Minimum of 2 years direct work with adults with complex needs related to their substance use and mental health
3. Can demonstrate experience of applying Psychosocial Interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Counselling, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), while working with clients with complex/multiple needs
4. Valid driving license and access to transport to fulfil the duties of the post
