What’s involved?
You’ll work within a team of volunteers with supervision from a role manager to deliver a group
enabling people affected by dementia to participate in activities and to meet others in a relaxed,
supportive environment.
About you:
This role will suit you if you are friendly and caring with good verbal communication skills. You'll
enjoy meeting new people and be willing to learn about dementia and the impact it has on people
affected by it.
The impact you’ll make:
You’ll enable people affected by dementia to participate in a variety of meaningful activities in a
social setting, from chatting and sharing memories to gardening or talking about current affairs.
Your support at the group will aim to reduce social isolation and contribute to the wellbeing of
people affected by dementia
What you need to know:
We need to ensure that people living with dementia who benefit from our services are safe. In order
for us to do this we interview, check and train our volunteers in on-going roles. If you have
accessibility need we’ll make reasonable adjustments to enable you to volunteer. This role also
requires a criminal records check – there’s more information in the role description.
