Donaghadee Heritage Preservation Company exists, as it says, to collate and preserve the heritage of the town and local area. Our current major work is the restoration and preservation of the Sir Samuel Kelly Lifeboat, which famously rescued 33 survivors of the Princess Victoria and many more lives, notably as a result of the Fastnet Disaster.

It is important that we not only survive and thrive, but we also need to evolve. New ideas, new enthusiasm and new blood. We need your help.
The Donaghadee Heritage Preservation Company is controlled and managed by a board of volunteer directors. The board oversees the fundraising, the planning and the administration of the company.

The current directors can only stay "on board" for fixed time periods, so we constantly need to keep looking for others to join us. We currently need another one or two to join our board and we are seeking suitable candidates. Do you have a few hours to spare each month and do you have some experience in finance, business, legal or administration? Like all of our board, this position is only rewarded by the knowledge that you have contributed and that your colleagues are grateful for your efforts. Expenses will of course be covered. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, for further information and job description, please get in touch with our Company Vice-Chairman, Mrs Joan Smith at  [email protected] . We would welcome your support and look forward to hearing from you.
