Oxfam Ireland is seeking a Volunteer Communications Officer to support the Media and Communications Team in its Belfast office.

Oxfam Ireland is seeking a Volunteer Communications Officer to support the Media and Communications Team in the Public Engagement Department.

The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Media and Communications Executive, focusing on event planning, PR support for retail and fundraising initiatives as well as internal communications.

Location:                     Oxfam Ireland’s Belfast office, 115 North Street, Belfast BT1 1ND

Working hours:           Ideally 10:00am to 3.30pm, 4 days a week

NB: This is an unpaid volunteer position but some expenses will be covered.

Brief job description:

  • Providing support in the implementation of national PR campaigns for retail and fundraising initiatives, including Christmas at Oxfam, Oxfam’s Unwrapped gift range, retail events and other activities.
  • Helping to push out regional releases on our retail and fundraising initiatives, targeting both regional broadcast and print
  • Gathering content for media materials and other channels such as website and internal communications, including testimonials from volunteers and customers
  • Providing support in the planning and implementation of events, photocalls/photo shoots to support our PR activities
  • Helping to compile the internal newsletter, including collating pictures/content
  • Various administrative tasks relevant to the role
