Training & Development Officer [Youth Work/Ministry & CRED]

Responsibilities will include co-ordination and delivery of accredited youth work & CRED programmes across NI.

4.         Main Responsibilities:

(a)        To co-ordinate and deliver accredited youth work and CRED programmes, contributing to the quality assurance processes and supporting a team of tutors / assessors across NI. 
(b)        To engage with key community and Church based stakeholders, in order to work in partnership to respond to identified training and development needs

(c)        To work as a key member of a team of staff, casual workers and volunteers involved:

  • in the design, planning, delivery, quality assurance and evaluation of accredited training programmes for young people / adults;
  • in working to assist a range of community and church based youth organisations / groups to embed best practice in youth work / ministry and / or CRED.

(d)       To develop partnerships with Diocesan Youth Officers, Church Youth Officers, full-time and part-time youth and community workers, community relations networks, volunteers and all who may be involved with the personal and social development of young people and young adults.

(e)        To be familiar with [and contribute, as appropriate, to] developments within Youth Service, including the policies, provisions and services of the Department of Education, the Education Authority and other key stakeholders, as they pertain to the youth work of the churches.

(f)        To represent Youth Link: NI effectively within and beyond Youth Service and the Churches and to promote the services and resources of the organisation.

(g)        To work within the ethos of Youth Link NI and embrace the Christian vision of Churches working together to develop excellence in youth work and ministry, and to promote equity, diversity and interdependence.

(h)        To contribute to the ongoing strategic and operational development of the organisation.  

(i)         To maintain efficient records, reports and recordings on agreed work programmes, budgets etc. and prepare structured analytical reports for key stakeholders as required. 
(j)        To participate in regular supervision meetings with the Training and Development Manager and undertake appropriate, approved in-service training.

(j)         To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post and agreed by the Director of Youth Link: NI
